Winter Appeal 2019

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...

For many, that means overindulgence, long holidays and spending too much money on pointless presents. But at Sufra, Christmas roughly translates as ‘EEK - All Hands On Deck!’ as we deal with our seasonal influx of homeless people and hungry families at the Food Bank.

Did you know that 22 more people are made homeless every day? Or that there are now more food banks in the UK than McDonald's restaurants?

Sufra is open throughout the festive season to give our guests emergency food aid, homelessness packs and the support they need to stop sleeping on the streets – that’s what Aunty Ros does best.

Meanwhile, Madina is busily overdoing our dodgy Christmas décor so that all our guests can enjoy some Christmas spirit. And our amazing volunteers are preparing for our massive Christmas Lunch for 150 vulnerable people on Christmas Day – not to mention the Big Orange Hug.

This is our way of showing a little HUMAN KINDNESS at Christmas. But we need to do more – much more. So, we are asking you to show some human kindness too and support our Winter Appeal and help us raise £10,000 this winter to support everyone that comes to Sufra in need of emergency aid or attends our marathon Christmas Day feast.

Every £20 you give can help provide a night’s emergency accommodation for someone sleeping on the street this winter, in the bitter cold.

And every £100 will help us feed a family of 4 during our marathon Christmas Day lunch (see below for details).

Go on, show a little human kindness. Click here to donate.
