What do you charge for volunteering?
We ask for a minimum donation of £250 unless organisations are providing us with pro-bono support or alternative fundraising. This covers the administration for the day and helps us fund our programmes.
What opportunities are available to our team?

Packing food parcels, serving guests, and helping in our community garden
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
10am-3pm
Sufra NW London, 160 Pitfield Way, London NW10 0PW
Our Food Bank serves over 7,000 guests each year with access to emergency food and advice to solve their longer-term issues. Our Community Garden is run in partnership with local stakeholders and gives away over 900kg of organic food each year as well as running educational workshops on cooking, forest-schools, and practical skills.
Volunteers will join our regular guests to pack parcels and give these out to our guests. Garden volunteers have helped us build a pond, plant and harvest fruit and vegetables, paint signs, and turn our compost (if they’re feeling brave!)
On Wednesdays we don’t run our food bank but have gardening and storage roles available.

Cooking with our professional chef, serving lunch, and running our community shop
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
10am-3pm
New Horizons Centre, 1 Robson Avenue, NW10 3SG
Our Community Wellbeing Service is a space for guests to access a range of advice services, eat tasty nutritious meals made from surplus food, receive their weekly groceries, and make connections.
Volunteers help prepare lunch and dinner with our professional chef, serve refreshments, help us stock our community shop, and serve guests, speaking to them about their needs and helping them to pick out the products that they want.
How many volunteers can help?
Usually, 12 volunteers is a maximum number in each of the placements, with 8-12 being the common number of volunteers that we host. If you want us to host a day for more than 12 volunteers, then please let us know in advance. There may be ad-hoc activities we need support with, or we could split the teams between our two locations.
Why support Sufra NW London?
- Encourage team work and relationship building
- Opportunity to give something back!
- Increase employee retention, engagement and loyalty
- Enjoyment of a rewarding day in an inspirational setting
- Demonstrate your company’s CSR commitment and values
Do we need skills or equipment?
No, all we ask for is enthusiasm. In the morning we’ll run a briefing for the team to explain what Sufra does, plan for the day, and cover any health and safety issues. And we’ll provide PPE to keep everyone safe.
Are there other ways to get more involved?
If you’re interested in supporting Sufra NW London through a meaningful partnership or have fundraising opportunities available, then please email our Community Engagement Manager, Ben Witcombe, ben@sufra-nwlondon.org.uk to explore how we could work together.
