Uniform Drive 2022

We need your help! Do you have school-age children, or do you know someone who does?

Over the next month we will be collecting ‘preloved’ uniforms across schools in Brent and distributing them to hundreds of families experiencing financial crisis and destitution. We really hope you can help us support our guests.

Over 41% of our guests receiving food aid last year were under the age of 18, totaling around 1739 children in need.

The families we are seeing every week already face countless financial challenges, and many simply can’t afford to buy new uniforms in time for the new school year in September.

Our Uniform Drive is also a green decision. As a part of Brent’s Together Towards Zero programme, we want to encourage everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle the items they no longer need, whilst supporting their local community.

We are now launching our UNIFORM DRIVE to support as many families as possible before the start of the new school year.

What is the Uniform Drive?

Throughout July, we will be collecting pre-loved uniform so that we can support the families referred to our Food Bank, ahead of the new school year in September.

What are we collecting?

Any school shirts, polo shirts, trousers, jumpers, blazers, ties, pinafores and shoes. Particularly in need are secondary-age trousers and blazers.

What requirements do we have?

We ask that the uniform is donated in good condition. Please wash items before donating, and do not donate any items that have tears, stains or holes. A big part of our ethos is to extend dignity to our guests; if you wouldn’t wear it, we wouldn’t pass it on to one of our guests.

How can I donate my spare uniform?

We will be partnering with schools in Brent for uniform collection. Look out for any yellow Sufra bins at your school! You can also drop off uniform to 160 Pitfield Way, NW10 0PW between Monday – Friday, 10.00 – 17.00

If you have collected lots of uniform and you need help getting it to us – give us a call on 0203 441 1335 and we may be able to help!

Please get your uniform to us by Friday 29th July!

How else can I support the Uniform Drive?

Become a Uniform Champion in your community. If you can collect uniforms from your own networks, including your neighbours, place of worship or workplace, then we can support you! If you have any questions, email me on nina@sufra-nwlondon.org.uk.

Please get in touch if you would like a Uniform Collection Bin to rally your community and collect as much as possible! The more donations we receive, the more families we will be able to support. You can download our Uniform Drive Poster to provide students and parents with all the information they will need.

Together we look forward to kitting out hundreds of young people this summer, allowing them to start the new year ready to learn.
