Together Towards Zero - Sufra's New Composting Programme

Fact: 40% of household rubbish disposed to landfill could be used to make compost? This includes food waste, peelings and cardboard.

How can we help reduce waste on St Raph’s Estate?

Brilliant news! Brent Council have awarded Sufra a grant of £1000 to develop a project in their Together Towards Zerocampaign. Thank you Brent!

We will be helping citizens of Brent particularly those living on St Raphael’s Estate to learn more about the fantastic ways we can turn food waste and rubbish can be used to make this black gold - Compost!

Starting on Thursday 28th April at 2pm, we will meet in the community garden and explore different methods of turning food waste into nutrient-filled soil

- wormery

- Bokashi

- three-bay

- hot bed composting

This campaign aims to do three things:

- We want to help households start their own composting at home

- If composting is not your thing, then we will encourage you to bring suitable household waste here which we will turn into soil

- Finally, we want to help Sufra to reduce the amount of spoilt food and cardboard waste to zero!

If this works, we can reduce food waste and help you create your own soil for free!

Join us for the first session Thursday 28th April 2pm.
