We’re very pleased to announce that we have been selected by Global’s Make Some Noise Emergency Appeal to continue to provide food parcels and hot meals to communities hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. Global’s Make Some Noise is the official charity of Global, home to some of the UK’s biggest radio brands including Heart, Capital, Classic FM, Smooth, LBC, Radio X, Capital XTRA and Gold.

Over the past three months of our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal, we have learned a lot about how food insecurity has been exacerbated by the effects of the pandemic. We have had to make some radical changes to the running of our services and have made a call out for more volunteers to join us in our battle to feed Brent’s most vulnerable families and individuals. Lockdown restrictions may be lifting all over the country, but fight is still not over. We need your support.

The money raised from Global’s appeal will help us continue to run our services effectively amid the challenges of the pandemic. We have been selected among a cohort of other charities who are managing a range of issues such as grief, poverty, domestic abuse, loneliness, illness and mental health problems, as well as carers and care workers. We are honoured to be selected for this campaign, but we face many challenges ahead. Now more than ever, we urge you to show your support.

"There is still a whole load of work for us to do. Even though the pandemic may only be here for a matter of months, the economic crisis that will follow will be here for a lot longer."

– Rajesh Makwana, Director at Sufra NW London
