#EachforEqual: Celebrating the Women Who Make Up Sufra

We’re celebrating International Women’s Day 2020.

At Sufra NW London we welcome everyone in the community! Whether you’re using our services or volunteering with us, there’s always room to get involved.

Sufra is contributing to improving the lives of women through the various services, including our food bank and refugee programme among others.

Today we have our regular Sunday food bank where we will be welcoming local women from all backgrounds in urgent need of our support. Half of those who use the service are women and it is often women who bear the brunt of poverty for themselves and their families. We support them not only with food, but also other essential items such as sanitary products, nappies, baby milk and baby food.

On International Women’s Day 2020 we would like to thank our volunteers, two thirds of whom are women! They have supported us in helping women in the community through difficult times.

We are also grateful to organisations such as Bloody Good Period who have generously supplied us with much-needed sanitary products for women over the past year, and to the many organisations and individuals who have donated to our food bank.

Yet the challenge continues, and we are in constant need of items for women such as toiletries, new underwear, nappies and baby food. On International Women’s Day 2020, we celebrate women and their achievements, but we also urge those of you who are able to make a donation to help the women who are most in need of our support.

Happy #IWD2020!
