The Community Kitchen used to run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm every Friday, and served a freshly cooked 3-course vegetarian hot meal to anyone who turned up, regardless of their circumstances. Guests could simply come along without prior booking and enjoy the company of our community.
The Kitchen is normally open all year round and serves up to 90 hungry guests during each session, including families experiencing food poverty and people who are socially isolated and lonely.
Our younger volunteers run a crèche during the food service to ensure that parents can enjoy their meals in a more relaxed atmosphere. Throughout the calendar year, we also host regular themed dinner nights to celebrate the community’s cultural diversity – such as Christmas, Ramadan and Diwali.
