Community Food Champion

Welcome to the ‘new normal’. The new normal is a UK with more food banks than McDonalds. It is 2.3 million Londoners struggling to afford food. It is a 371% increase in demand for food aid compared to last year at Sufra.

At Sufra, we think you need to find extraordinary ways (and people) to solve ‘normal’ problems. That’s why we’re launching our Community Food Champion project to find members of London communities who want to fight food poverty.

What is a Community Food Champion?

Being a Community Food Champion is a brilliant way to engage your community in combating food poverty. Whether you represent your street, local area or workplace, as a champion you can play a crucial role within your community and networks to help us increase food collections and provide a convenient local drop-off point for anyone who wants to donate food and other essentials. You will act as a hub within your community; organising food drop offs, storing food donations and liasing with Sufra staff about when donations can be collected.

How to get involved:

The good news? It’s super easy to become a Community Food Champion for Sufra and we’ll support you every step of the way. This link has all the information you’ll need to get started. To sign up, visit our volunteer sign up form here.
